
Our Junior Certificate programme provides a comprehensive range of subjects (academic, practical, personal development) with an emphasis on practical subjects including Materials Technology – Wood, Metalwork and Technical Graphics. Students are also introduced to Computer Studies from an early stage. Students follow a programme from the following list of subjects.

Code of Conduct
Discipline is essential if a school is to achieve its objectives of promoting effective teaching and learning. Parents / Guardians and students are given a copy of the Plunket College Code of Conduct which they are asked to sign at the start of the school year and a summary of students’ responsibilities and our referral procedures / sanctions is included in the college diary. The Code of Conduct focuses on the importance of fostering respect for all staff, students and for college / personal property.

The college operates a Student Award Scheme to give recognition to student achievements over a range of activities.
Extra Curricular Activities
Physical education and sport play a dominant role in our college’s curriculum. Physical Education classes take place in our fully equipped Sports Hall. There are also extensive playing pitches in the college grounds.
Teams from the college take part in a wide range of inter-college sporting competitions in athletics, soccer, gaelic football, basketball, boxing and judo. Teams from the college are entered for inter-college competitions organised by the Sports and Cultural Council in debating, quizzes and public speaking. The Junior Cycle students participate in the Junior Certificate Physical Education Programme.
As part of our Outdoor Education Programme each class gets an opportunity to experience activities such as hill walking, canoeing, rock climbing and adventure sports. Outdoor education trips involving overnight stays in hostels are enjoyed by some class groups as part of their overall programmes.
