LC2R students who have completed a leadership programme have made a commitment to mentor the Junior students. On Fridays in the library they play board games and give the juniors advice about school and exams. The mentors also go on trips with 2J1 as part of the programme.
Six of the LC2R students along with their teacher Ms. Dixon took part in this programme. In September the students went to Ovoca Manor in Wicklow for two nights and three days.
They were trained in leadership skills, child protection, team building and much more.
They took part in lectures and outdoor activities.
These activities were planned to reflect the objectives in the lectures. The students really enjoyed the programme and learned a lot about themselves and each other.
The Ember team have returned to school with a plan to mentor younger students which has been very positive so far

Repeating may seem like the end of the world but the dedicated and hard-working teachers and staff at Plunket College make repeating less stressful. I'd recommend it to anyone.
"I never thought that I would go to university because of Leaving Cert points, never mind have the opportunity to study in an area (Psychology) where it is so difficult to get a place. I owe how well I did in university in no small part to the year I spent on the Counselling & Psychology course in Plunket College; it was indispensable in getting me where I am now, a second year Psychology student in NUI Maynooth.
