Home Craft Skills
This course aims to give adults basic woodwork and home improvement skills in order to enhance career and life choices. Students will learn to make useful and attractive articles for the home. The course will also give students an opportunity to improve their reading, writing and mathematical skills.

Students are prepared for FETAC Level 3/4 Certification


Adult Leaving Certificate


Aim
This course is designed for adults who wish to study for a Leaving Certificate qualification in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Students will be able to avail of the support of a Class Tutor and Guidance Counsellor.

Course Content Students follow a programme from the following list of subjects:

• English
• Business
• History/Geography
• Biology/Physics & Chemistry
• French
• Maths
• Irish
• Art

Not all subjects may be on offer in any given year

Entry Requirements
There are no minimum educational requirements.
N.B. If there is not a sufficient number of VTOS applicants to form an Adult Leaving Certificate class, VTOS applicants may access the mainstream Leaving Certificate courses.



Computer and Office Skills

 

Aim

This course is designed to equip students with a range of computer and office skills.

ECDL – including
• Word Processing
• Database
• Spreadsheets
• Internet
• File Management
• Powerpoint
• Theory

FETAC
• Desktop Publishing
• Communications
• Text Production
• Teamworking
• Spanish Conversation

Course Content
There are no minimum entry requirements. Entry Requirements
Students are prepared for FETAC Level 5 Record of Achievement and ECDL awards


Foundation Course in English Language, Business & Information Technology

Aim
This programme is intended primarily for students whose first language is not English. There is a strong emphasis on Language and Literacy skills. The course also provides a foundation in Business and Information Technology for students who may wish to progress to further studies.

Entry Requirements
There are no minimum entry requirements.
Applicants will be expected to provide evidence of basic English Language proficiency.

Certification Students are prepared for FETAC Level 3/4/5 certification as appropriate
